Delivering Food, Shelter, and Hope to the Poorest of the Poor.

Africa Drought

None of the stories reported on the nightly news are compelling enough to capture the true gravity of the drought and famine now impacting Africa. Children and families are suffering, and the situation is quickly becoming catastrophic.

This has been called the worst humanitarian disaster since 1945. In places like Kenya, Somalia, Sierra Leone and Nigeria, it's estimated that 20 million people have already been affected from severe lack of rain and food shortages – and there is no end in sight.

Cross Catholic Outreach's disaster relief team just returned from a 13-day evaluation of our Catholic partners in Africa and confirmed that the problem is growing worse by the day.

Our Africa-based partners of Cross Catholic Outreach are sending out urgent calls for help – and we believe Christ is calling upon all of us to respond! While we have allocated initial food and emergency support payments to provide some relief while we seek more funding, it is not nearly enough. We are now reaching out to our faithful supporters like you to garner additional support for these families who are out of options, and desperate for hope. This Christmas help our overseas ministry partners keep their doors open to poor and vulnerable, wherever they may be found.

Proceeds from this campaign will be used to cover any expenditures for Christmas Catalog’s Africa Drought incurred through June 30, 2018, the close of our ministry’s new fiscal year. In the event that more funds are raised than needed to fully fund the project, the excess funds, if any, will be used to meet the most urgent needs of the ministry.
