The Clergy and Diocesan Relations Department (CDR) coordinates the relationships between the various dioceses in the United States and throughout the developing world to generate awareness for Cross Catholic Outreach and our work alongside that of Catholic Church in the U.S. CDR works directly with the Bishops in the United States to coordinate efforts in the Dioceses and parishes in the U.S. with the projects and visits of Outreach Priests to the various dioceses. CDR directs personal meetings with individual Bishops and participates in Episcopal Ordinations and Installations. Besides opening up a dialogue with the Bishops, CDR works with dioceses who support their own mission outreaches, serving as a conduit for their own mission efforts

In order to help make the clergy aware of Cross Catholic Outreach, CDR organizes visits to seminaries in the U.S. in order to inform future priests of the ministry. Seminarians also have the opportunity to become more involved directly with the work of Cross by requesting ministry updates. CDR also publishes an annual newsletter, Cross Roads, highlighting Cross Catholic’s ministry and the support we receive through parish projects and endorsements from the U.S. Bishops

CDR also networks with the pastors by encouraging deanery presentations so that local pastors who might have hosted a Cross Catholic Outreach Priest can share our work with other pastors in his deanery and the opportunities available to them.

Within the greater Catholic Church, CDR also oversees the relationship with several Pontifical offices. As Cor Unum has merged into the new dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development under Cardinal Peter K. A. Turkson, the charitable works of the Holy Father will continue to be supported. It is through these relationships that Cross Catholic Outreach develops a stronger relationship between the Church in the First World and the suffering Church in the Developing World and is better able to bring the two together in mutual assistance. By facilitating such a rapport, CDR enables Cross Catholic Outreach to be a significant part of the missionary work of the Catholic Church in the World today.
