I know this phrase has lost some of its significance by being overused these days, but I believe the words are significant and profound in this case. Why? Because I believe that God really does bless those who obey His holy command to "love one another." I also believe that the spirit of this command clearly directs us to help the poor with their needs. (1 John 3:16, Matthew 25:31 and Isaiah 58:6)
When the projects we support are completed, we can all experience the triumph of God's power revealed. Together, through our outreach to the poor, we can discover the powerful promise of Isaiah 58:6 -- "Then your light will break forth like the dawn and your healing will quickly appear... Then you will call and the Lord will answer; you will cry for helpand He will say: Here am I."
