We are deeply grateful to the men and women who serve on our board. They are individuals of integriy and each has a strong commitment to helping the poorest of the poor.
Bishop Sam Jacobs is the Catholic Bishop of the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux, Louisiana. Bishop Jacobs has been active in Catholic Charismatic Renewal at the diocesan, regional, and national levels for over 20 years, serving as chairman of the National Service Committee from 1987 - 1993. He is currently on the National Conference of Catholic Bishops Evangelization Committee and was the chairman of the Bishops Ad Hoc committee on Charismatic Renewal.
He was ordained a priest June 6, 1964. He has a Masters in Philosophy from Catholic University of America as well as a Masters in Educational Administration.
On August 24, 1989, he was consecrated as the tenth Bishop of the Diocese of Alexandria, Louisiana. Bishop Sam Jacobs is known for his energetic and enthusiastic preaching. He is also well known for his active promoting of vocations to the priesthood and religious life. He loves to work with youth and young adults. He was instrumental in bringing a branch of the summer Steubenville Youth Conference to Louisiana.
