Outreach to Asia

Region of Asia

Poverty has steadily decreased throughout Asia, a region once ranked among the most destitute. Yet as the speed of economic growth accelerates in this region, so does the gap between rich and poor. And the millions who still survive on less than $1 a day are concentrated in South and Southeast Asia. According to the Asian Development Bank, they are "left behind because of limited access to education, land, credit and infrastructure."

Cross has partnered with ministries in South and Southeast Asia who help the poorest of the poor in the name of Christ. Outreach efforts include caring for orphans with special needs; feeding and educating children from destitute families; repairing and replacing homes ravaged by natural disasters; and helping poor, but ambitious, families start businesses that generate income and boost their local economies.

Cross urges believers in America and other developed countries to follow the example of the Christians described in Acts 11:29...

So the believers in Antioch decided to send relief to the brothers and sisters in Judea, everyone giving as much as they could.

Join Cross in praying for the poor in South and Southeast Asia. They are destitute yet generous of spirit, and they are God's precious children. And please send them relief, generously sharing your blessings, by donating to Cross International Catholic Outreach
