In an effort to empower Catholic parishes and missions in developing countries to better serve the poor, Cross Catholic Outreach partners with Catholic radio networks across the United States to educating listeners and invite their participation in outreaches around the globe. This support from Catholic radio audiences allows Cross to fund educational outreaches for poor children through Sacred Mercy Scholarships and to minister to the greatest needs of the poor through the shipment of food and other donated resources.
For more than 15 years, Cross Catholic Outreach has worked with priests, nuns and Catholic lay leaders serving in developing countries – and already familiar with the needs of the poor. This empowering of existing Catholic missions means more of each donated dollar reaches the poor and be more effectively used in the places it is needed most.
In the case of our Sacred Mercy Scholarships program, we give Catholic radio listeners the opportunity to provide poor children in developing countries the opportunity to receive a quality Catholic education. The schools we help provide a solid foundation of spiritual formation and academic preparation, giving students the important tools they need to break free from the cycle of poverty.Cross Catholic Outreach also receives donations of food, medicine, emergency supplies and other items that can change the lives of children and families in poverty, and in that case, we depend on Catholic radio listeners’ financial support to pay for the shipping costs. With your help, we can use as little as $20 to delivery as much as $1,600 in food, medicines and other valuable resources!
