Position Title: Manager of Clergy & Diocesan Relations
Department: Clergy & Diocesan Relations (CDR) under Parish & Community Services (PCS)
Reports to: Director of Clergy & Diocesan Relations and Sr. Director of PCS

Education or Certification Requirements: Bachelor's degree
  •  •  H.S. Diploma or GED (minimum)
  •  •  Bachelor’s Degree; Communications or Marketing or related field preferred
Experience Requirements:
  •  •  2+ years Marketing or Communications experience, preferred
  •  •  5+ years office experience with a minimum of 2 years in a management role
  •  •  Personal experience and intimate understanding of Catholic Church theology, structure and hierarchy
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required/Preferred:
  •  •  Proven ability to design, develop and implement department’s strategic programs and supporting efforts.
  •  •  Excellent command of the English language, demonstrating strong speaking, writing and editing skills, including the production of clear and concise materials; expert in preparing correspondence at senior level.
  •  •  Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint; experienced in conducting Internet Research; intermediate to advanced proficiency in social media desirable.
  •  •  Performs at the highest level of professionalism in working with U.S. Dioceses, Seminaries, Clergy and Churches.
  •  •  Proven time management and organizational skills; ability to track own tasks and action items and those of CDR Administrative Assistant for effective follow-through.
  •  •  Committed to working collaboratively with peers, colleagues to achieve departmental and organizational goals and objectives.
  •  •  Self-starter and independent thinker; possesses ability to work with minimal supervision, in a routinely high-pressured environment, at total ease under pressure.
  •  •  Ability to maintain confidentiality and show prudence in handling sensitive information.
  •  •  Agrees to participate in daily spiritual devotions.
Position Summary:
Reporting directly to the Director of Clergy & Diocesan Relations, the Manager of CDR executes a varied menu of complex strategies to engage U.S. Bishops and Clergy to Cross Catholic Outreach and its mission. As the liaison between the CDR department and clergy, the Manager is responsible for creating and implementing the department’s strategic plan to solicit endorsement letters, acquire seminary presentations and deanery meetings. The role includes, but is not limited to the following projects: facilitate, suggest and research CCO missions’ projects for inclusion in the bi-annual Cross Roads newsletter, performing requisite assembly, editing, etc., working simultaneously with multiple department heads to publication’s ultimate distribution. Tracks appointments of U.S. Bishop and VIP clergy and maintains database; manages and oversees all CDR Administrative Assistant tasks for the optimum success of the department and its strategies. Manages volunteers in the dept. Maintains communication links between CDR and the other departments at Cross..
