WORKS OF MERCY

Be Merciful Like the Father

To celebrate the Jubilee Year of Mercy with Pope Francis, Cross Catholic Outreach offers the corporal Works of Mercy’s teacher’s guide to help Catholic Students put their faith into action in classrooms nationwide. The next generation of Catholics is being called to stand in solidarity with the poorest of the poor and begin a movement across the United States to demonstrate Christ’s radical love through tangible acts of mercy and charity.

Available in grade levels K-12, Works of Mercy is a free resource for Catholic schools, parishes and families that teaches young people the importance of incorporating the Works of Mercy in their daily lives. By calling on the next generation of Catholics to be more compassionate, Works of Mercy equips students with valuable opportunities to impact the lives of families and communities. Catholic educators and Catechetical leaders play a critical role in preparing our next generation of Catholics to live their faith.

Cross Catholic Outreach offers dynamic lessons and tools to educators to assist them in challenging Catholics of all ages to become fully committed followers of Christ.

As Pope Francis puts it clearly “All of us need to experience a conversion in the way we see the poor. We have to care for them and be sensitive to their spiritual and material needs. To you young people I especially entrust the task of restoring solidarity to the heart of human culture… we have the duty to be alert and thoughtful, avoiding the temptation to remain indifferent.”
